Kitun privacy policy.
We respect your family’s privacy and handle information with care. This policy explains what we collect, why, and which services we share it with. We do not sell user data.
1Information we collect
To create your account and personalized songs, we collect:
- Account data: your name as shown in Google, your email, and your Google profile image (if any).
- Song details: child name, age range, gender, occasion, dialect, language, mood, melody style.
- Text you enter or edit: lyrics prompts, generated lyrics, and your manual edits.
- Generated files: audio previews, full songs, and associated metadata.
- Subscription and payment status: current plan, renewal date, Stripe customer reference.
- Anonymous analytics events used to improve the experience (see below).
2How we use your information
We use information for specific purposes only: signing you in, generating your song, showing it to you again later, counting your plan allowance, and replying to support. We do not use your child's data for ad targeting, and we do not share it with marketing companies.
3Third-party services we use
Kitun depends on a limited set of infrastructure providers. Each one handles a small piece of the data to do their job:
- Google OAuth — verifies your identity at sign-in. From Google we only receive your name, email, and profile image.
- Neon — the database that stores account data, song details, and subscription status.
- Google Cloud Storage — stores the audio files. Files are accessed via short-lived signed URLs.
- Gemini — Google's AI that writes the lyrics and the music brief. Only the necessary details are sent.
- Vertex AI / Lyria — Google's audio generation model that turns the music brief into the song.
- Stripe — processes payments and card data. Kitun never sees your card details.
- PostHog — for anonymous product analytics, without child details or lyric content.
- Vercel — the hosting provider that runs the Kitun website.
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy that you can review.
4Children's data
Kitun is built for mothers, parents, and nurseries. You — not the child — create the account and enter the information. The child's name and age are used only to generate the song, and they are not shared with marketing companies. We never ask for sensitive child information such as address, phone number, or health information, and you should not enter any of that into Kitun. If you would like to delete a song or your whole account, please contact us.
5Payment information
All card details are processed by Stripe directly and do not pass through Kitun servers. We only store your Stripe customer reference and current subscription status so we can grant you access.
6Share links
If you choose to share a song, a public link is created. Anyone with the link can listen. The share page shows the child name, age, and occasion (the same details that appear inside the app), so share the link only with people you trust. You can stop sharing from your account at any time.
7Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how people use the app (which pages are visited most, where there is friction, how upgrades convert). The events we send do not include child names, lyric text, or card data. The goal is to improve the experience, not to track you personally.
8Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage and session cookies to: keep you securely signed in, remember your language preference (Arabic / English), and save a few preferences. We do not run third-party advertising cookies.
9Data retention
We keep your account data and songs as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your data within a reasonable timeframe, while keeping what we are legally required to retain (such as basic payment records). Some backup systems may keep copies for a limited time before they rotate.
10Your rights
You may at any time request a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or close your account. Contact us at hello@kitun.com and we will reply within a reasonable time.
11Security
We run on well-known infrastructure providers, use HTTPS for all traffic, and serve audio through short-lived signed URLs. No system can be 100% secure, but we work to keep risk low.
